New Medication Being Offered: Atorvastatin
Atorvastatin is from a group of drugs called "statins" which act on your liver to reduce the level of harmful cholesterol (bad fat) in your body which reduces the risk to your heart. Statins are extremely well-researched medications, used by millions of people around the world and have been shown to help reduce the chance of a stroke or heart attack.
Individuals receiving this medication have been shown to benefit from the following:
- Living a longer and healthier life
- Reduced chance of heart attack and stroke
- Reduced chance of developing dementia
- Reduced chance of an emergency admission to hospital
