Why is this important?
High blood pressure (hypertension) is when the force of your blood against the inside of your blood vessels is too strong. Over time this can damage your arteries and increase the risk of serious health problems like heart attacks and strokes.
You usually won't notice any symptoms, which is why checking your blood pressure regularly is so important. Keeping your readings in a healthy range reduces your risk and helps you feel better for longer.
